Celmus hairstreak

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with iridescent light blue around the dorsum of the forewings and all of the hindwings except the margins and submargins. Females do not have much iridescent blue. The wings have white fringe, and the hindwings have two tail-like projections near the tornus. The underside of the wings is white, each with two orangish-brown lines running vertically from costa to dorsum (the inner line is thicker and more orangish-brown). The hindwings have two orangish-crowned black tornal ocelli. The body is dark brown on the upperside and white on the underside.
