Purple-washed skipper

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are brown with light brown fringe. The forewings have two central transparent spots, one yellowish spot below the central spots (just above the dorsum), three subapical transparent spots, and one transparent spot between the central and subapical spots. The hindwings have a series of white postdiscal spots. The underside of the hindwings has a bluish tint from mid to costa. The body is brown on the upperside and light brown on the underside, except the lower part of the abdomen which is white. 

Variation: There is variation in the amount of bluish tint on the underside of the wings.
